We plan one or two lock-ins each year, and the kids always ask when the next one is coming. We don't really have a set budget for our lock-ins. We always aim for covering the majority of our cost by charging $15 per child. We increase the cost to $20 per child for late registration one week prior to the event. We created this set for a 6-week series I wrote this fall called Spiritual Warfare. It will be available for you to purchase this week! In this series, kids will learn about a different piece of the armor of God each week. They will learn the importance of putting on the full armor of God every day to take their stand against the devil's schemes. The cost for this set design was $34 for us because we already had some of the foam board, cardboard, paint on hand. If you need to purchase the foam board it would cost you about $34 [...]
We created this set for an 8-week series I wrote over the summer called Puzzling Parables. It will be available for you to purchase this week! In this series, kids will learn about some of the famous parables Jesus taught while he was on earth and how they can apply the spiritual truths to their lives. They will meet Captain Puzzler, the greatest puzzler of all time! The cost for this set design was $0 for us because we already had the foam board and paint on hand. If you need to purchase the foam board it would cost you about $17 [...]
We created this set for a Christmas series I wrote called Unexpected Presence which is available for you to purchase right now. In this series, kids will learn about the unexpected visits and the good news that led up to Jesus' birth. It's a fun and unique way to tell the familiar Christmas story to kids of all ages. The cost for this set design was around $50, but could be done for cheaper if you choose to forgo the lighted presents. My inspiration for this set design and series was presents, obviously! Who doesn't love presents, especially when they light up your [...]

Vanessa contacted me about participating in her blog tour for the book and I almost said no because it wasn't my typical book to review, but I'm glad I said yes. Rise Up is all about learning to choose faith in God over our fears. She addresses a different fear in each chapter. I felt God nudging me and speaking to me through [...]
